Playing for keeps

you are in las vegas

you are happy in the atmosphere, you have some extra cash and you dont' care if you lose it, its money you dont need

so you go to the blackjack table

and you gamble

and you start winning
and it is an amazing high, winning

and you want to win more and more it gets addictive

but soon, the streak ends and you start losing
but you dont want to stop, you just want to win again
and then you get to a point where you lost more than you started with
so then you think, ok i justneed to gamble a little more, get back to where i started, then i can walk away

but you dont, you just lose more

and then all of a sudden you dont have any money left at all
and you have to walk away from the table with less than you started and its sad
and then you stand next to the table wihsing you could be there plaing and winning
and you see other people come up, they have money they don't mind losing, and they start playing and having fun

and you just wish you could have that again

maybe you just have to realize that you will never win that money back, and you walk away. can it make you a better person?
